Join: Benefits of Membership
Access to Exclusive Content via the Member Portal: this includes the complete searchable archive of the Cornerstone Clues quarterly magazine, 1975-2019; references to Clues articles are included in the Periodical Source Index–google “PERSI”–of genealogical materials compiled by the Allen County Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Also in the Portal are yearbooks from Greene County’s 5 High Schools through 2017, as well as those from Point Marion (Fayette County) HS, 1925-1960; early 19th Century Tax Records organized by Township (courtesy Jim Fordyce); 1800s Marriage listings; information on Veterans, including those who served in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars; Early Settler data, Bible Records, Will Book and Orphan Court abstracts (compiled by Daughters of the American Colonists); 1903, 1915, 1949 Directories; and other scanned files of genealogical interest from our Library holdings.
Research Assistance In accordance with our all-volunteer traditions, we do not charge research fees. (Nor can we devote more than a reasonable amount of time to search for obscure or likely non-existent documentation.) We do not retrieve documents off-site. For members, we will establish E-Mail Communication and identify resources within the Library–and share what expertise we have–that are pertinent to their research and make those findings available in as convenient a way as we can, including by e-mail attachment. For long-time members, we go to extra lengths, as warranted by particular circumstances. We have formed many friendly and mutually beneficial relationships over the years.
There are 3 ways to join:
1] DONATE $25 (top right, Home Page) for access to the Member Portal for 1 year. We will send an email with Username and Password when we receive your Donation, usually a one-day turnaround.
Membership Levels:
Regular $25
Patron $60
Professional/ Corporate $100
The Patron and Corporate levels help support ongoing projects to enhance our holdings and technology. We continuously add to and refine the Obituary Collection which, like all the Society’s doings, is a volunteer effort. Over the years, we have been the beneficiary of extraordinary contributions in establishing CGS to its present capabilities.
2] For Long-time Members–or those considering becoming one–with a credit card, you can activate a recurring payment profile (below) for instant one-year access to the Portal. You will be notified as the renewal date approaches, with an opportunity to opt out. It is also possible to cancel the recurring part of the payment.
